Lara B. Anderson
I am an Assistant Professor of Physics in the Particle Theory Group and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Virginia Tech.
I am currently a Hamlett Junior Faculty Fellow in the Academy of Integrated Science at Virginia Tech.
Research interests:
My research focuses on various aspects of geometry and particle phenomenology in string theory. Recently I have worked on compactifications of heterotic string theory, M-theory and F-theory. I am interested in better understanding the low energy effective physics of string theory, using tools from algebraic geometry (including computational algebraic geometry).
For more details, you can look to my publication list at inSPIRE.
My research is currently supported in part by NSF grant PHY-1720321 and is part of the working group activities of the 4-VA Initiative: A Synthesis of Two Approaches to String Phenomenology.
